What we do
We're not the whole picture. We're the part that's missing.
Palliative teams, GPs and community providers do the clinical care. Mingary Care is the local charity that pays for and coordinates what falls between them, so people can stay home, and carers can keep going.
We fund in-home care hours through local providers when other funding runs out or has not arrived yet.
Beds, pressure mattresses, transport, scripts, utilities, the practical things that get in the way.
Respite, someone to call, and help navigating a system that nobody has time to learn.

What we fund
Our model of care.
Community awareness
Improved understanding of death and dying and of palliative care, end of life care and bereavement through meaningful conversations and information.
Services
Funding for in-home care such as personal care, domestic assistance and respite, as well as bereavement counselling.
Supports
Funding for items such as equipment, medications, wound dressings, hospital parking and fuel vouchers.
Last wishes
Compassionately working with individuals to help them achieve certain goals or make wishes come true, such as travel or meeting a special person.

Our success depends entirely on the generous support of the community.
Mingary Care is funded almost entirely by this region, through our op shops, regular givers, volunteers and local events. A monthly gift is what lets us say yes to a family on a Friday afternoon.
